Group Expectations
¡Bienvenidos al CCRL! We are a lab dedicated to studying coastal dynamics and their impact on community well-being. We foster close collaborations with community members and scholars from diverse disciplines to gain a comprehensive understanding of integrated socio-environmental systems. We strive to engage meaningfully with the community and do not view ourselves as superior to those who are not academics.
While we aim to be anti-colonial, we recognize that we are not perfect. Nonetheless, we are committed to continual learning and growth, and that is what I expect from you above all else.
Below, you will find key information regarding our expectations related to Group Culture, PhD Life, Research Ethics, Co-Authorship, and Professional Development. Following those general points, there is a more specific list of expectations I have for you, as well as what you can expect from me.
Important note: Much of this is taken directly from Jacob Wenegrat’s lab. Paragraphs which I have directly lifted from his lab’s Group Expectations (or which contain information that mostly stems from his lab’s Group Expectations) will have a vertical bar on the left-side margin. Moreover, this is a living document and will be revised periodically. If you have any feedback for me, please let me know.
